    Gold ring

    I see the applied leaf on it. Black Hills gold? Those tri-color 10k rings with leaves, grapes, and/or flowers attached like that were very popular back in the 1980s and ‘90s.

    1st day, lots o’ trash

    Yesterday was the first time out with a metal detector since I was a teenager. Found lots of trash. I figured the best way to relearn digging plugs was to tear up my own yard first. The emi turned out to be a big mess. I did the freq scan several times, tried lowering the sensitivity, etc...

    That wood inlaid band ring is interesting. How far down was it? Couldn’t have been there very long with the wood staying so nice.

    That looks like a boot scraper, the kind that's bolted to the front or back stoop on 19th century houses.
