a little help please about coil chatter

Hello. I recently sold a Tesoro 5X10" elliptical widescan coil, 4 pin , works on vaquero, cibola etc. Buyer believes the coil may need a retune, because it "isn't stable above 9 on sensitivity." I know sensitivity / chatter can depend on the area etc.. I spoke to a Tesoro tech and he said...

Got the chance to try a Garret ace 150 today .. One die hard Tesoro user's opinion

I took my uncle out detecting a while back and he got the bug. He was using the compadre. I tried to steer him towards Tesoro, but I gave him honest advice as well as opinions. He was looking at crazy chinese brands, some i necer heard of and some you could get at any retail store. I narrowed...

    Check out this metal detector

I just noticed this listing... I just think it's neat and according to the auction it's sort of a Tesoro I don't know the owner or have any relation to the auction... I just think it's a neat detector...

Finally got out, skunked, but still love the hunt

3 hours in the woods with my 4 year old and uncle. Let the uncle use a compadre... He enjoyed it. Most interesting finds were just an Iron handgun like object and a horse shoe. Found a new ( old, but new to me) foundation... Gave it a short hunt... Nothing but iron there too. Still one of...

Any tips for the coinstrike? So far I like it

So far it seems very good. I just set it up withh 99 disc, 7 sensitivity, 0 threshold. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I'm thinking about lowering the disc to hear iron. I just tested in the backyard... There's lots of foil and iron Foil gives soft broken tones and low id #'s 0 - 10. A...

Anyone use the Compadre in water? I may water proof

I'm thinking about placing the housing in a gsi lexan box for water hunting. Appoximately $20 to do it. Anyone try water with the compadre? How does it fair? I'm guessing all metal would be the preferred search mode. I'm only considering fresh water. Thanks in advance.

Took the Compadre on a hike.....what is this?

Every thing was found in the same location Anyone know what this is? could be 1869 or 1969... This is some kind of weight Here's some buttons etc. Not a bad day for hiking....My intentions were to make my way to the opposite side of a river that once had a bridge......I've searched...

    Once again I have a Compadre ;-)

I honestly believe it's the best bang for buck detector made. Second hand they can be found very cheap.... Too cheap I say. They're Super light, decent discrimination, and an absolute killer in all metal mode. Makes for fast detecting when the digging is easy. Luckily the wife isn't going...

Can anyone compare a minelab musky to the vaquero?

I had a musketeer advantage about 8 years ago, but didn't care for it and felt I was digging too much junk. I honestly wasn't very experienced detecting at the time though. I remember it was heavy. ;-) just curious---> what are some opinions of the musketeer?

Spotted a gold chain with 3 large charms today

Looked like gold... Charms were 3/4" wide. Only problem was I was in a hotel shuttle at a red light and the charms were laying in a busy intersection road. I have an eye for stuff laying around.... Too bad I couldn't pick it up. I also picked up a fake diamond today. I'll keep looking ;-)
