09 pre decimal finds

Just a couple of photos of the pre decimal I have found this year, nothing outstanding but I haven't posted for a while. A lot better start to the year than last year but that could be because it was too hot to detect on the days I had a day off last January and I don't usually detect much at school holiday time.

That's a pretty good start to the year John. Did the 1951 penny show up as a gold coin due the corrossion on it?
Mick Evans.

Hello Mick, No the penny came up as normal, around 37 on the display if I remember correctly, I used to put down the id for every coin i dug on a notepad then enter it in a diary when i got home but I have got a bit slack lately, still fill out the diary and leave it to memory to get the coins in the right order of being found. As you can imagine I am not finding many coins per day if I can remember the order they came out of the ground in.

At least you are pulling out pre-decimals. I hardly do that. I pulled out a 1921 penny the other day with my GTI and it hit like a $1 coin. It had a bit of corrosion on it.
Mick Evans.
