sorry no pic yet ill post one later,found a 1828 1/2 franc today and am trying to find out if its french or belgium anyone know the difference..ty

Sounds like a nice find! Sounds like the coin is from France, since Belgium didn't have and 1/2 Francs dated 1828. The closest date from Belgium is 1833. Also, the French coins have a crest on the reverse, and the coins from Belgium just have the denomination and date inside a wreath on the reverse.
