1 ring 1 bracelet 1 hole

I woke up really early(early for me) to detect an old park by my house with my f70. Near a park bench i got a nice solid low tone. It was giving an id of 21-23 consistently in one direction. I circled around at 90 degrees and it then gave an id of 18. I circled around another 90 degrees and again it gave 21-23. I thought it is probably foil but i dig all foil. The pin point said 2 inches deep but when i tried to determine the size it was kinda too big to be a ring. The target seemed to be about the size of the bottom of a soda can or something. When i pulled the plug i knew right away that it was a bracelet at the bottom of the hole. After unearthing most of it to be sure i wouldn't break it i picked it up and pulled just a little to find it was stuck on something. I dug around the bracelet about another inch and whatever it was stuck on came free. It was a ring looped inside the bracelet. And that's why i dig all foil. I air tested the bracelet and it gives an id of 18-20 and the ring 21-23. Both are 14k. I don't really understand this because the bracelet is much larger. Anyone know the reason for this? My best guess is the shape.

Congrats! Nice finds!:clapping:
The reason the braclet IDs lower is because the detector only sees one link at a time, the ring on the other hand is seen as a coin sized object.
Again WTG!

Super nice finds. But how do you lose a ring and a bracelet at the same time and not realize it?? Very impressive!!!!

well done :clapping:
gotta love that foil & the f70 :super:

Eddy currents. I read this once. For the same carat and same size ,ladies rings can often read much lower than gents rings. This is because they are often set with a stone on a clasp mount. The gap in the ring where the clasp is soldered is a great place for the eddy currents not to be formed as well. A gents ring being solid allows for the generation of more eddy currents. The more eddy currents formed the lower the signal back to the detector. The detector sees this and displays the appropriate number. TRY THIS. Get a round ring pull sans beaver tail and VID the number. Make a single cut in through the edge of the ringpull with side cutters and re measure. The number will be lower even though the shape and amount of metal alloy is exactly the same. Good luck and GREAT FIND (read jealousy)

Any chance you can find a jeweler to value the find ?

Love to know what it comes in at.
