10" elliptical coil for the F75 /F70??

Well-known member
Does anybody out there have the 10" elliptical coil for the F75-F70, if so how wide is that coil? I assume it is 10" long, but from the picture I can't tell how wide they are.

Thanks if anybody can help,

Ron in WV

It measures about 9.8 inches by 5.5 inches to the outside edges of the coil plastic.

Thanks that's what I needed.

Now I am kind of wondering if the 10" elliptical coil would be a good add to my coil collection? I have the F75LTD with the stock 11"DD, the 5"DD and the little 6" elliptical. I am looking for something to help get another round of silver out of the park I hunt. I don't think I am getting enough depth out of the 2 smaller coils and 11" seems to be blinded by the trash.

The 11" DD coil has pulled the bulk out so far but things are getting pretty skimpy here lately.

Any thoughts on this,

in trashy areas you might try running mono tone some good targets that are next to trash or iron will give a good tone in 1 tone but in 3 or4 tones will sound like junk.in cleaner areas try running bp mode in all metal will get a little deeper than disc mode. as far as the 10 inch coil it does better on bottle caps but does not seperate as well as the 11 inch coil and i think the 10 inch coil will id deeper targets a little better good luck hh

I have one ordered. The study i did on it it is benificial in a couple of ways the big coil is dd and it is concentric. and it is quite a bit smaller to fill the gap between your little elipt which i have also and the big one. I have a friend using one on the f5 so i ordered one for the 75ltd we have. I think it will work good but i will let you know in a couple of weeks.

We find the big coil to much trash where we dig we can swing one way in the parks here and hit at least 8 targets and sometimes it gets trashy :) with the little coil you get seperation but you cant cover anyground when you get a bare spot with less trash so your swappping coils constantly; i think the 10 will help that.

grumpy,
Interested to hear what you observe. In the areas I hunt, I either go with the standard 11 inch or the 6 inch elliptical concentric. I've hunted with the 10 inch concentric and found that it pinpointed off center for coins on edge and had me chasing signals a bit. That annoyed me enough that I did not really evaluate heavy trash performance compared to the small and standard coil. Hope to hear your evaluation.

I will say that I like the 10 inch coil over the wet sand at the salt water beaches. It is a little less sensitive to being spot on with the ground balance and sounds off iron a little better than the 11 inch standard coil. With a big scoop, I don't really care if I'm off a little with the pin pointing.
Cheers,

On the F70 the 10" concentric coil was my favorite. Ran much smoother. On the Omega I like the 10"dd coil even better.

Same for me, I would like to hear what grumpy has to say. From what I am reading so far the 10 elliptical is a good coil, but may not do much more than the 11"DD.

I have a F75 Ltd Camo and it does not have alot of EMI issues that some of the new ones had. I can run the 10" Elip at high sens and it seems to run smoother that the 11" and 5" DD coils. I have not noticed a problem with pinpointing, but here in the next couple of weeks I will try to do some testing on targets using all three coils. I still use the 5" DD in high trash areas, and I am thinking about buying the 6" Elip coil to see how it does.

I have the 10 in. on my F70 and love it. I hunt in the Nashville tn area a lot and have hit pennies and dimes at 7 to 8 inches.
