Went to the beach for a while fresh water beach really hard to hunt because of minerals and iron, didn't think coil would work there but it handle it pretty good but really hard to pinpoint dug some junk targets 10 11 inches pick up some coins between 3 and 6 inches it will pick up bobby pins small pieces of wire and loves bottle caps,i don't think it would have a problem picking up rings hang on nickel real hard, meaning it register a nickel may move over one notch for a second but pretty much stays on nickel.Left beach and went to school yard and found some coins it will get some depth when you run all metal or relic you will see the depth meter light up full on and off i run nickel penny dime quarter and the coil seems to have no problem hitting a coin at six inches and sound real clear h ow small a target look at the heart i found and lost for five min after it fell out of dirt in my hand try and find that in high grass or pinpoint that on top of soil with 14 inch coil. The meter said it was down 6 inches when i dug it up but i say 4 or 5inches it is really small. So far the coil works good.Mine was a little lose so i went to ace hardware and sure enough he had the rubber washer that fit the rod but just slightly bigger perfect now the coil stay in place more.Well hope this helped some. Oh yea the heart came in as solid penny

Well it sounds like you are satisfied with the way it performed. Wonder how it would do on a piece of gold jewelry the size of that little heart? The girl at KellyCo said it should find coins past 8" so you will have to find an area with some really deep stuff. Now you need to rest up so you can out-do Tim next outing.:detecting:

These places i have tried are about dried up i ran a 15 inch coil on another machine through these areas and didn't come up with much.Have to follow Tim Dude and see were he go's.

DD's pinpoint off the front or rear tip of the coil. There is no receiver for pinpoint. Did you read my field test?

Bill

Yes i read your field report very good article just having problem at beach with pinpointing, the minerals in sand and the coil was loose in stem and was flopping around later i fixed with a washer from ace hardware. Thanks Uncle Willy

My coil arrived on Monday and I had a chance to try it out in my backyard last night...a 100 year old house. Believe me when I tell you that I have scanned this property VERY carefully over the past six months and have come up with some good coins...wheats, a merc dime and a few rosies. I was sure that I had gotten it all. Thirty minutes scanning with the DD coil and I found two wheaties. I'm having a little trouble pin pointing as well. At one point I put my sniper coil on to get a better location because of lack of confidence in the DD pin pointing. Bottom line, the coil DOES go deep and will pick up objects that have been missed in the past. Wliiy, do you have a link for your pin pointing instructions for the DD? Thanks for your help!

Hello OhioFred:

I'm interested in hearing more about your experiences with this coil over the next few weeks.
I called Kelly Co and they said the 10x14 will be on sale for a few more months. I'll wait until
the jury is in with the verdict.

What difficulty are you having with the pinpoint?
What is the deepest you have detected a target in all metal?

Regards
Katz

The difficulty was at the beach which i expected and the coil was loose this beach is full of minerals and very difficult to hunt. The deepest cins prbaly 6 0r 8 inches but in all metal and relic hitting targets that are deeper than the ace 250 will register iron hits and unknown object. Will try to dig some of these this weekend

Here's a link to Uncle Willy's field test on double"D" search coil.
