This was only the second time using my new Deus, and the first time using the 11in coil that I got last week after selling off some other gear.
I had hunted this particular private farm yard (the huse dates to circa 1910) several times before and at best pulled a couple of Wheaties but no other keepers due to the heavy iron.
The signal on this worn 1920 merc was clear in both directions as I checked it in all 4 frequencies. The signal in 18 KHz seem to 'bite' and lock on a bit more than in the other freqs and I noticed I could run the sensitivity in 18KHz much higher than in 3 KHz. Nonetheless the vid was in the mid 80's regardless of frequency with slight bouncing up to the low 90's.
The dime was right around 6inches down.
Im really liking this detector and coil! I'm also surprised how easy the Deus is to learn and operate. I've used other high-end detectors and I find the controls on the Deus more intuitive and easier to use.
Thanks for looking,
Cheers!
