1266-xb with grandsons first time

For those who helped with the 1266 settings - had a good time with it. Pinpointer setting is the best thing for the kids.

Grandsons and I went out with the 1266x last week and they found a nickel, a penny, a tree climbers tree spike,7 pull tabs, foil, nail, and a 1 pound hunk of iron and a "few" bottle caps. We were in a very small kids park and a small beach - all very well covered based upon the ground markings from digs. Also took the Surf PI for the fun of it. A pain on land but did intro oldest boy to the water with it.

They were not interested in digging deep stuff - the deepest they went was about 5". This old unit was sounding off on a lot of deeper stuff that I would have dug.
Hopefully by summer they will be more willing to dig more. Did not use a pinpointer and will certainly use next time with them - their greatest frustration was finding targets in the dirt they had dug. Wet sticky stuff this time of year in the parks.

Think T.O.M. got the best of the day.
