Can some one with a 1270 help me by using a clad dime setting norm disc to 4 and tell me how many inches untill the 1270 just starts to chirp on open air test? I can't get any depth here in HI with my test targets but open air tests result in 9 3/4 inches with the above settings. Is this normal? I know that the soil here is awful but I am only getting 4-6 inch coins at the deepest. My detector seems to be pretty stable so I think the ground balance is ok. This is an old place that dates back to the 1930's so I know there is silver here, just cant find it. Maybe I'm just paranoid. Thanks in advance. Buck. Hickam AFB HI.
