13" Ultimate coil for the T2 Ltd

Has any one in the UK tried a 13" ultimate coil on an ancient site? i.e. small Roman coins or is it best on pasture

Would love to know how the coil performs. I am in an odd situation here in TN. Tons of acreage I can hunt but you are either in Civil War relics or old home sites or nothing. Very few of the fields or woods will have scattered finds. You are either finding numerous items or almost nothing. There is very little documentation on the out lying locations (ghost town) so I have just simply had to cover lots of ground to find them and have been pretty successful so far. I have hit the sites previously located really hard with the G2 and plan on going back to my best 2 home sties with my new T2 as soon as hay is cut. I still have many pasture and wooded sites to check that can be hunted year round. Would love the advantage of the larger coil to cover ground, but concerned with weight and performance vs the 11" stock coil. I traded the G2 and got the T2 as lots of the finds are unusually deep having been in turned fields along river bottoms.

There are a few older threads on here comparing the Ultimate 13 vs the standard, not in the UK I don't believe. Generally, there is an increase of 1-3 inches, depending on conditions. I can't say I've seen anyone on here that said they were sending theirs back or selling it. They also like the 12x15" SEF coil, as well.

TNGUNS check out a website called HistoricAerials.com!! They probably have maps to help you locate places that are long gone!

Well it woke up my G2 in every aspect. Depth!!!

The big SEF coil has opened my eyes too on my T2se. Depth

Brian, the Ultimate coil is without doubt the most popular coil being used on the T2 over here in the UK as the replacement for the stock coil,so its a good all round use coil,my personal opinion would be although its a good coil if you plan on using it mainly on the roman site it could pick up multi targets due to its size,a slightly smaller coil would have been better for small roman coins.

As you are finding some very nice items, why change what you are using all ready ???
