1350 sniper coil

whadda

New member
Got the sniper coil for my 1350 today,, and hit an out door bar area that was loaded with trash, we have had a bit of trouble with the standard coils there in the past but the sniper separated them quite well, I found 16 coins, in about an hour and about 150 ring pulls but found the targets easy to separate,, I also found that the depth meter was a bit funny with the small coil, it would hit the true depth or close for a split second then show all targets at 1" even if they were at 4",, but if I watched carefully when I first hit the pinpoint I was always close on depth,, the profiling was hard though as all the extra targets would hinder it's performance,, all in all it worked quite well,,

sorry no pics have miss placed my camera
cheers Roger

I got one of those coils coming this week, an ebay snag. The business about the depth is good to know.
I reckon that depth isn't too important with these coils, as that is not their forte in the first place. Once a target is hit cleanly with them, the point is to recover it in the hopes it will be something good and overlooked among the clutter.

Sounds like the ID wasn't to badly mucked up, though. That IS fairly important.

Alright!:bouncy:Glad to see that whadda has that sniper coil and dahut has one on the way.:detecting: That definitely helps ya' weed out those goodies amongst the trash. Yeah, the sniper coils for the GMH and 2500 give a depth reading, but my 5" EXcelerator for 2500 shows everything at 2" regardless of actual depth. That was a bit frustrating at first, but I got used to it. Snipers don't give sizing info on the GTI. Neither does EXcelerator, it shows everything as size B no matter the size.:shrug:Oh well, it picks out the goodies and that's alright with me.

Have fun with those sniper coils, guys!:detecting:Best of luck to ya'.:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

Glad you like that sniper coil. With a coil that size, you probably can guess a targets size quite accurately by the strength of signal as you pass over a target. or by raising the coil until the audio stops and looking at the distance.

The 'old fashioned' way, kinda what I was thinking.

another funny thing was the overload signal,, no matter the target if it was within 1" the detector would go nuts, this was the case with every thing except small foil

Good thing to know> ive decied my Christmas presnt to me i the
sniper and shaft for my 1500

Ill file this for future reference

Usually the 4.5 will show about half the real depth that is displayed with the stock coil and the profiling will be a little fuzzy as it isn't configured for that small coil.. But that little coil will find the goodies. Keep digging away.

used the sniper coil for about 20 mins again today until it started to rain and found that the pinpoint is so accurate that that depth is not an issue,, I just pinpointed and then used a probe and it was bang on every time,, also noticed that the length of pinpoint would give a very accurate size of the target as well, a 5 cent was really sharp and small and a 50cent was also very sharp at the edges but of course quite a bit bigger,, most ring pulls would give a soft edge depending on if they still had the beaver tail attached or not, those suckers most often hit up at the 1 cent icon , makes you think you have another $2 coin
