15 inch nel verses the 11 DD

all iron

Member
Field hunt planed for this weekend
Hope to showcase the difference between the 2 coils.
Verdict is still out with me as to weather the 15 inch coil is deeper or not.

I'll post a video of the results and make the comparison as true as possible.
My plan is to find a target that is at the limits of the 15 inch coil and then switch to the 11 DD before i dig it.

Stay tuned

Sorry guys and gals... didn't find anything deep enough to challenge either coil
I did do a quick field hunt and pulled up a few 3 ring bullets

check it out if you like

Nice video, great finds. I have a 15" coil for my T2. IMO it is deeper than the 11", but also has a larger search pattern. I don`t like it in real trashy areas, because I have trouble separating targets. It works best for me in relatively trash free areas, like that field in your video. And of course it is on the heavy side.

Good to know, but with a bad back, I'll probably stay with my stock coil. I used to hunt with a 15" coil on an old White's machine many moons ago. They were very heavy back then. :stretcher:

I found a place in michigan that I dug up three ringers also and couldnt find anything to date them either except maybee a buckle could use some help CEDARSWAMP
