15" WOT COIL

SWMO Mark

New member
Has anyone used the 15" WOT coil on their Exterra? I know the 10.5" DD coil is a killer for civil war relics. I thought the WOT should be even better for some of those hard hunted camps. Anyone have any experience useing one? Thanks, Mark

I used it a few weeks ago up on an old ski hill. They had cut the brush with a brush cutter behind a groomer and the stubs were between 9" and a foot tall. I had to run the 15" coil above this so as not to catch them in the coil openings. I found a silver quarter that was 8" down in the dirt. This hill has been groomed with a cat years ago,so the old coins would be deep in the dirt. It gave me a good TID of 44. It will be a great coil for my next year of gold hunting in Alaska.

I purchased the WOT in Sept this year and have used through some rallies in UK. It goes deeeeep...found a small hammered way down in dirt, but that coin was not near any iron. I think it runs smooth in terrain, and have used the coil in forest, fields and grass. It just glide over the ground. Also I found it very stable can run it on very high sensitivity almost all the time.
It is for sure a really good coil and I don't regret the purchase.

Good luck with the WOT and hope to see some of your finds.
