15" wot coil's

am interested in the wot coils<does the company have a website,i seldom see used ones for sale ill take that as a positive vote for them.I have read that there is less noise from mineralization with them, does anyone find this to be true.Anyone able to compare them to the sunray 14" coils.I have also read that although you dont get much more depth you get stronger signals in the 7-12" range helping to locate the deeper silver,is there any truth to that.Any insights would be appreciated ty and hh ....jon

Ron at Dixie sells them. I have been using mine for a couple of months and I like it in areas that aren't too trashy. Also consider the thingy-thingy as unless you are 18 and able bench press 500 lbs it will get heavy FAST. I haven't used it on the beach yet but they tell me that 18 inches on a quarter is not out of the question and you can cover a lot of ground. .02

I have used the 15 WOT on and off about a year. In clean ground it works well. It will also find dimes a foot in the ground. I dont mind the weight, but I bodybuild as a hobby..

Hi jonhls,

I've been using a 15" WOT for around 12 months but only on beaches to cover a bit of ground quicker than the stock coil or the Platypus which I also use. It does go deeper than the stock coil, Coiltek state around 30% extra depth and I guess I would nearly have to go along with this. As Erikk and Cloctor said it is heavier but if you have a rest every couple of hours it's OK. I believe some users had a problem with pinpointing, however I have not found this to be so, it seems to pin point just as well as the stock coil or the Platypus it's just a matter of getting used to it.

All the best.....Boony

I feel they are made for area wide open like the beach where you need to coverage and targets are far a few. I myself use the X12 of Sun Ray as it is lighter weight and not so clumbsy feeling for my park and ballfields hunting I do.
I have a guy here that gave me his 15 inch WOT to sell for him as he got it for the beach, but since got a Excalibur to use on the beach and it is too big for his land hunting he does. If by chance you are interested let me know with a private message before I list it as it was used very little and he would like to get $150 for it.

I have had a WOT for a month or two now and I really like it. As others have stated it's primary use is in areas with a low level of trash. But I have also noted the coil is VERY sensitive to small targets plus 5-8 inch targets are much louder and cleaner than the stock coil. Pinpointing has not been a problem for me at all. This has become my coil of choice when possible.
