[sup]Can anyone comment on the 15x12 Inch SEF Butterfly Search Coil 4 the SAFARI...........Good or bad...?..is it worth the cash to get one?[/sup]

I answer this quetion myself!...its worth the cash...its quite and outperforms the stock coil hands down

but...mine does not pinpoint correctly..so there will be an exchange when one comes in...thanks again to jw at kellyco

I bought one for my Safari and using factory settings at the beach it was notable more sensitive than the original 11"-- I found a bunch of the belly dancers coins (she must shed like a puppy) and when I switched from coin and jewelery setting to coin I instantly found a shiny dime.

Using it on a trash filled site that is now a jewelery store and was previously a plumbing supply I found copper, brass and tin items and well as pull tabs and bottle caps. I was getting readings all over the place- 9. 36, 40, 22, 38 etc. Called and spoke to Steve at Kellyco and he told me to lower the sensitivity. Will do that the next time I hit that sire.

Great coil. I just bought a 5" Excelerator on EBay for 55.00. Looking forward to that one.

The 15 X 12 is much more sensitive than the the coil which comes with the Safari. Mine pinpoints very well. I Switch to an Excelerator 5" and realized that you have to practice pinpointing. Put some items on the ground and practice pinpointing and observe where the items are under the coil and put some white mark on that spot for the future. On the Minelab coil the "spot" is the white M in front of the mounting bolt. Where it will be on the SEF I am not sure. In some areas you have to lower the sensitivity as well. Do not forget to push the noise cancel button with every change...........................
