1716 Treasure Greed Murder

Dancer

Well-known member
Edward Teach watched the crew lower the Treasure Chest into the rowboat. Armed with 3 braces of pistols, a cutless and his sword ,the Captain & 6 of his best men shoved off for the inlet.
They were going to bury what they had now,and dig it back up on their return home. A day and a half later the ships lookout sighted the returning vessel with only one person! Upon tieing up ,Teach smeared and splattered with blood but unwounded climbed back aboard. "What of our mates" demanded the crew! "Their lying with the Treasure". Being the only man alive to know where the chest was buried, Edward Teach had just insured his life against murder & mutiny. Dead men tell no tales. A large shipmate advanced on the Captain, and was immediately dispatched with a musket ball between the eyes! "Now throw his carcus overboard and make ready to sail". "And those who arn't sailing with me, will swim"! Blackbeards crew got real busy- real fast.

Watching the news, things arn't much different today as then. Tell no one
