1794 large cent and Buttons

Tim LeBlanc

New member
Yesterday after work I went back to the old cellar hole. the fist target I dug was the large cent. Worked the area pretty good and dug up 3 buttons and a buckle. BtW the cellar hole is about a 100 feet from a major road way. So I went down close to the road. Which I'm up on a hill looking at traffic going by walking back to my truck just swinging along and get a good signal. Its 3in deep I dig and out comes a 1920 wheat and a 1951 rosie. Thanks for looking. HH. Tim

Your really doing well there... Impressive

Thanks Elton. I've been trying to go there every night after work. I can tell you its in Western Massachusetts. I have the coin soaking in oil. You can see some good detail on it. The back is pretty worn. And somebody tried to make a hole in the center of it. Still a great find. HH ....Tim

Tim, you are on a nice roll. Some really nice targets you are digging. Finding goodies after work is a great way to end ones day. Or, if retired, starting ones day. Good swinging! HH jim tn

Thats quite a nice assortment of finds there Tim! The place must have some history going back a ways. I sure hope theres a jar of old silver buried there for ya!
Mud

Thanks JiM and Mud. Yeah I have 25 plus before I retire. There is actually 3 cellar holes in the area. A filled in well. Cellar holes on the side of a mountain. Rocky terrain. Ledges everywhere. Now for the silver. The place was hammered in the 70's from what my dad told. They would just dig silver. And toss the buttons and the coppers. I did find my first silver there 10yrs ago. It was a 1839 O. Seated dime. There has to be more nobody finds it all. HH. Tim
