1825 HALF CENT & old knife

Went digging with Digsitgti to on of his spots today & dug a 1825 HALF CENT. I dug the old knife & smashed bullet last weekend where I dug those coppers. We had trouble getting permission today. No one was home anywhere. Oh I was swinging my T2se with the 13" Ultimate coil. HH TIM

No it wasn't that deep 5". 90 sensitivity 75 discriminate.

I have to tell you that I would have LOVED to have found that 1/2 cent coin. My husband and I were walking around downtown at our local "Fall for Greenville" annual festival. We were having a wonderful romantic night out and reminiscing about when we met. We stopped at the same spot to overlook the falls as we did 12 years ago. It was an awesome night! For some reason I brought up the 1/2 cent coin. He said, "there has never been a 1/2 penny". Now, James is incredibly smart. He has his masters in education, studied law and law enforcement, and is now a county magistrate. He reads EVERYTHING! I mean everything. He boggles my mind in Jeopardy! Anyhow, I knew there was once a 1/2 penny-- but didn't know exactly when. So he wavered a bet. Ohhhhh, I knew I was going to win! Whew Hoo! I looked up the information and saved it. Hah, I was so right. He wasn't quite as humble and apologetic as I hoped. I was annoyed at him for that and he brushed my back and said, "are you mad", I said, "I am just disappointed in you for not admitting you were wrong". He said he was sorry and all was well again. ANYHOW-- some of those 1/2 pennies are worth $16,000.00 and even more! I hope you do know that!

Cool story jilo & thanks for looking at my post. I have a red book & it has coin values in it. So I have a rough idea what I find is worth. If you look in this forum you will see that I found a chain cent. Look up what they are worth. They are very rare coins. You should have bet your husband on the 1/2 CENT. Do you metal detect or did you just do a search on 1/2 CENTS? Any way HH TIM

I had never heard of the chain cent before, a quick internet search later and WOW, you werent kidding about it being rare only 36,103 ever produced 219 years ago. Major congrats are due, BTW cool half cent as well.
