1830's Farmhouse: Change Purse Remains

Erik in NJ

New member
Unfortunately no change in it or near it . This came in as a low growler in the foil range - I decided to dig as it is an old site. I was surprised to see the remains of this thing in the hole and I even managed to recover a small piece of original leather that must have gotten preseved. The barn was later turned into a lady's tea house....not sure what era it's from, but it looks quite old - it's so brittle that if you look at it - it breaks. Appears to be copper that was nickel or slver plated at one point. This will be donated to the local museum in this town for display.
