Well this could have been my last hunt for the year. The ground is starting to freeze pretty solid since Sunday night. I found these with my Explorer XS in an old farm yard Saturday morning that a friend was generous enough to invite me along with to detect. The large cent was my oldest coin for the year and was about 7-8 inches deep. It read like a quarter or half, so I wasn't expecting it at all. A nice surprise and a good way to end the year if I can't bust through the frozen ground anymore. These flat buttons are my first and any info on their age would be greatly appreciated. The backmark on the one with no gilt is Imperial/London.The nice gilted one has the backmark of PLUMR FREELAND & Co.N.YORK.The one Indian with the bare copper spot near the date is a 1867 which is a better date than a common.
