Jim,
Walking out of the post office last Saturday I looked down and saw a penny laying there - and looking closer, I saw that it was a 1954 Wheat! Wonder where some of these come from.

it's surprising how many are still in circulation.i get one now and then in change.

I get them in pocket change as well. I tend to look through my change so I do not spend the wheaties.

silver dime lying in the middle of an asphalt parking lot last week?? I guess we all walk around with our eyes down, knowing there is money everywhere.

I picked up a ten dollar bill at the local park last week. Nothing else any good but the ten took away the disappointment.

She has saved for me Buffalo, 1938 through 45 Jefferson nickels, Mercs, one Standing Liberty (no date), Washingtons, Roosies, plenty of wheats and one 1907 Indian...
But the best were: 1913 Barber dime, 1901 V-nickel and an unbelievably beautiful AU 1909-VDB (no 'S') wheat cent!
All from the cafeteria cash register!
My bank teller once gave me 3 rolls of wheat cents, which included 27 steel pennies for $1.50!

LOL I hate to say this but I found a 20 last month.

By the curb in the street in an affluent neighborhood. It was yellow stained with pollen, and a little faded from moisture I imagine, but was genuine!!! It sure put a spring in my step that day!

Got out of my truck last night and what did I see, a wheat penny tails up, turned it over and had to look twice!!! A 1909 VDB!!! Unreal what a guy can find by eyeball'in!
