I was just digging around on Tesoro's line of detectors, both past and present, and came across a mod to increase the operating frequency from a shop in the UK:

They also have a mod to heighten the audio frequency, which might actually be desirable to some of you. Mailing the control box to the UK might not be so cool, but hey, at least the option is there.

On a side note, I also ran across a Toltec 80 for sale on Albany's craigslist. Figured that I should mention it just in case one of you were looking for one of the older, rarer Tesoro models of metal detectors.

Just to let you know, that that mod to 18 kHz doesn't work with the design. You will actually loose depth.

Actually, I believe that Laser provides this mod. So their warranty is killed.

They got a electronics shop over there that will build you a Tesoro your way!We ain't got nothin cool like that over here.They even got a Tejon pro with some kind of extended disc.We need to get some stuff going on around here,don't you think? :O

The Tejon Pro is a Tejon that is in black. Does not have an extended Disc on. You can't get your Tesoro your way there. That is a mod that Pentechnics is doing. Pentechnics is Authorized by Laser to repair the items that Treasure World, (Our Distributor) in London sells.

That has had the gain adjusted for our UK soil, it has been set up to find less iron and less coke than the normal Tejon.
The warranty on our detectors only lasts one year unlike your Tesoro's lifetime warranty.

repair centre for Laser-Tesoro detectors that our sold here, but they do only have a 1 year warranty. so if they go wrong or need repair after that you have to pay.

Nar, i would sell it quick and buy a load more Tesoro's. (only joking)
I had the Tejon pro for a few months but went back to my Lobo st as the Lobo st for me was a better detector on the sites that i searched.
