Old Lake - Excal Loot

Old and New -

New cop was on duty - a female

She 86-ed me from the lake

but I was determined

Parked my service truck on a side street - through out a cone behind the truck.

Head back to the beach -

Detoured across the front of someones property in the water

( The water is fair game 8' from shore in front of residences )

Anyway headed for a vacant lot with water access -

Came up with this Barber Half after ten minutes -

Makes ya kinda wonder where the old shoreline used to be!!!!!

You never fail to surprise -- what a spot you've found there! Barber half (haven't found one yet) and the Merc dime looks like it was dropped fairly new as it has nice full split bands on the back.....can you show a cleaned pic of the back? Looks like they got fairly well pitted! Those bullets look like CW era and that silver ring is an odd one....how old you figure that is?

Also what's the story with those lead weights? Are they flat?

Here's your request # 1 fan!!

The bullet in the pick - is it for a musket loader or just from a hand mold???

Re: How Would you guess the age of rings ?? Old I Guess!!

Hey check out the ear plug in this post.

It's stainless 1/2" gauge or so!! Kids don't think about 15 years from now! Big holes in the ears

Some the weights got to be as old as the coins. Some are hand made -the size and shape are endless!!

Got to give you credit where credit is due and and an A plus for your effort. The only thing I haven't seen and I don't think I have missed any of your posts. is a gold coin. From the finds in this lake there has to be one. Who know it may be worth enough to post bail!!!!!!!!! Good finds and keep it up while you have the chance.

Very nice Bruce...........:) I think you have got your share of gold and ice for a while and now you can start posting all your silver coin finds. Hope you don't get shot accessing the lake through somebody's else's property..........:)WTG!! HH.

I hope you are starting to realize why there is a lot of Coin Hunters out there after you pulled that Barber Half. Just think, that was 99 years ago when that was minted and who knows how long it sat in the water to finally be brung back to the surface and for a person to see and own once again. It just makes you wonder what that person was doing back then and how bad they felt after they had realized that they had lost that coin. It also makes you wonder what else from that time period is still lurking in the water. I just love finding the old spots and all the different types of treasures from a long forgotten past. Awesome finds and I hope you can get out there and hit that lake real soon and bring back some more treasures. Good Luck and HH MrChile!!!

Hi Chili,

Wow, had to put my eyes back in their sockets!! I guess one of the things that amazes me is that you seem to be finding older items in the water than most guys (including me) do on land! Some interesting items in that hugh pile of gold -- what the heck are some of those things....looks like a gold belt and some other wild looking things. What was the college bowl ring you referred to?

But i've gottten away with it for the past three weeks.
Remember I hunt at night in the water with the Excal
