I went metal detecting at a local park with a friend of mine Cliffhanger. We decided to take a break and walked to a local store as we had both taken public transportation. While we was walking I heard what sounded like a electric Jack Hammer over on the next street, so I suggested we go and check it out. Sure enough there was a guy taking out his driveway in an old house built back in the early 1900s. We stood there and watched. metal detectors in hand waiting for a break in the noise to ask about metal detecting the area. The guy Jackhammering stopped for a moment and we asked about metal detecting the area after he finished taking out the driveway. He pointed to another guy standing by a truck, so we asked him the same question and he told us to come back the following morning. Wow I could hardly sleep. Not many times I get a chance like this.
The following morning my friend Cliffhanger and I show up at this old house at 9 A.M. ready to go. While we was hunting the ground seemed hot and full of Iron. So my friend and I switched over to our smaller coils. After we had hunted for a while the owner comes out and tells us that someone in the family had already hunted the area. We were still happy finding old pennies. After we hunted for a while we stopped for a while to take a break. Between the two of us we had only found three pennies. One Indian 1899, a 1919s and a 1910s. I called the guy at the coin shop and asked him about Cleaning the 1910s and he told me not to clean it but bring it in.
