1st Day Out w/Excalibur

I headed out to the lake this morning, after hitting a park at 6:00 am with my Explorer SE. I got to the beach at 1130, opens at 1100. This is a beach on the lake operated by the electric company. I get my Excalibur, diamond head scoop head to the water. I set everything to what I saw BDA posted on another message. I turn on the detector and off I go.

As soon as I got my first signal, which was the ring (I am sure it is costume) and I look up and I see another detectorist in the water. Go figure, the times I have been to the lake I haven't seen anyone with a detector but on this day not only one but two and make that three including me. But that is alright, this is a pretty beach swimming area. I found the 3 Susan Bs and the Sacajawea in one spot.

I wanted to get the detector out in the water to see how it operated and how the operator would do. Next time I will take my basket, that I made, with me.

I love the water and would have stayed until the closed, but have dinner plans for a real estate client that I sold a home to. However, I will be back Monday morning waiting for the gates to open.

...it looks like you are operating in the bling zone. Just keep on. If others missed those targets, they have missed some good ones as well. You're in for a great adventure with your Excal.

They are a good sign there may not have been much in the way of other hunters digging for gold in that water, and judging by the type, it looks like it hasnt been hit for quite some time.... Might even git ya some silver coins too....G/L

Roger That, and Thanks.....

Looking forward to Daytona...... Moving back to Florida at the end of the year.
