1st Hunt of 2006 - Gold, Relic, Coins

Went to my fav site where I've pulled out quite a few 1940s silver. I've been over this same site for the last couple years with my Sov & other branded machines. Fired up my Quattro and tried some notch settings for coin & relic hunting.

The first good target was this gold bracelet made from Forstner NJ 1/20 20KT GF(Gold Filled)and dated 12-25-(19)51. It was no more than three inches deep.

The settings I used notched out a lot of modern & not-too-old coins so I ended up with three more 1940s coins. The larger One Centavo coin came out under a large tree root. It was difficult to find as it was standing on edge. One of the smaller nickels came out just an inch deep in trashy ground. This one has been passed over so many times we've hunted this site. Lower Sens of 8 did the trick on this one.

The out-of-round relic is an unmarked Spanish button that came out of another site. It has been over a year since I've dug one of these. Its probably the Quattro's 2nd button. Spanish military used unmarked buttons pre-1790s so until I get a better view of its shank that would approximate its age.

Hope you enjoy the pics.
