I haven't had much free "me" time this summer (it has all been "our" time) and so my detecting adventures have been few and far between but I was able to squeeze in two hours Sunday afternoon.
Spent one hour at a park I'd eyed a few times whenever my travels brought me into it's vicinity. I figured it would be a good park to hunt as it has lots of activity with some specific site features I look for. Since it was a new site and my first hunt on it I used the Golden/Cleansweep combo. The 18" x 4" coil allows me to cover a lot of ground fast and find out whats what and where. I did a casual sweep across the width of it on the way to the area of the park that held the most promise. Only found 2 coins on the walk.
Once I got into my focus area I recovered a 2.5 gram gold ring, and a 1.325 once silver thingymabob. I don't know about how you treat your finds, but for me, I don't spend much time looking at them when I find them, they just get dropped into my pouch with all the rest of the stuff and then I look at them when I get home. I may have to change that though as it appears that in my recovery of the ring I dislodged the stone. I knew the stone wasn't on the ring when I dug it up, but if I'd been thinking a little clearer I would have spent some time looking for it as the ring is nice and the stone has to be a nice one too, and a big one. Now I've have to go back and try to remember which of those little digging spots had the ring in it.
It looks like it was re-sized and most of the karat marking was polished off so I have to have it tested to know value. But even worst case, both items will total $100 bucks in scrap value. 
The silver thingamabob looks to be a cane head or maybe a flask top. I dunno. All I know for sure is it's kinda cool looking and a good hunk of silver. I'll get some pictures taken tonight and posted and see if you can enlightened me. Walking around with it in my pocket today showing it off and getting opinions as to it's function.
Since I accomplished my tasks at that site, I packed it up and headed to a school playground that is on one of my regular hunt routes. It is one of my A sites for rings and I keep it cleaned out. Nothing special waiting there for me today, though.
Now that I've proved out the park site I'll get back in there with the F5 and hunt it up. The Golden/Cleansweep combo is a good scout but the F5 is the one you want to cleanup with. I'm quite sure there is more gold and silver there waiting for me.
