2 cents and a dollar!

Went back to a trashy 1850's house I have an open invitation to detect. My last time there I found a silver washington quarter. Like with many older houses that have been lived in continuously it's harder to find the older items. I lucked out today and found my first 2 cent piece and my first Ike dollar. I almost didn't dig the dollar because it was reading so high and so strong. Managed to ding it as well. The 2 cent piece, 1864, had a nice green patina around the outside edge on both sides, and a dime sized section of green corrision in the middle. I took a chance with an amonia soak, not too impressed, with 20/20 hindsite I wish I had left it alone. Ahh well, either way in it's condition it was not worth much, still a cool find.

Enjoy the pics!

Too bad the 2 Cent Piece didn't come out better. Maybe there will be another one there in better shape. Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunt.:detecting:
