First hunt this morning was a small park that used to have a few homes back in the day.
All kinds of iron and other junk left over when they knocked down these homes, but I found a good one in all that mess.
Really weird signal, too.
I got a very jumpy signal, all day most signals were way jumpy for some reason, maybe because of all the junk laying here at all depths, but on this one I kept seeing some higher dime numbers pop up.
I dug this thing at about 5" or so and thought it was play money at first because it was smaller than a dime and thin, but it turns out it was my first Kansas 2 mil tax token.
I say weird because this is zinc and comes in at even lower than that on my F70 at a 39-40 out of the ground.
There must have been some big rusty iron deeper to get that high number part of the signal, but whatever was going on the signal sounded good so I dug it and found this thing.
Most times I go by sound no matter what is happening on the screen and this crazy signal is a good example why.
I found a pic on the net to show you what it looked like new.
Second hunt was a short one at another park at the end of the day.
Not much to show on this one, but on the way back to the truck I came across a pretty solid 88-90 signal that the F70 said was at 6".
I dug down and at just about 6" I pulled up this nice silver ring.
Small at a ring size of 6.5, but actually unusually thick and comes in at a weight of 7 grams.
Beat up and scratched up, but I think it might be pretty old and still looks good regardless.
2 nice hunts today, 2 neat things saved from a long dirt nap.
