2 ring bush outing!

Targets seem to be getting fewer and fewer from the bush site. Very tough now to get much of a coil swing with all the new growth. However, sticking the coil here and there, every so often something still crops up. The 2nd target I dug was the small sterling band that was right next to the trunk of a big oak tree and all of 2" deep. It came in at 73-74. A little further down the path I was working out from I got a bouncy reading that would touch up into the clad quarter range. From about 3" I recovered the other ring. It cleaned up fairly decently, but is tarnished and no silver markings of any kind. The buckle, that has Pat. Jan. 1204 on it, was my last target of the day and was a good 9-10" deep and about a foot out from a down tree trunk. The wheatie is a 1948 and there are a couple of zincers and no value tokens. Anybody have any thoughts on the buckle, don't keep it a secret, please. F 75 LTD with 11"dd coil and running in bp mode, gb 60-65, sen 85, disc 4 and 3h tones. HH jim tn

Although for the better part of all this week woods hunting has been tough from the standpoint of brush growth is getting thicker every day, by working the trails and the few low growth areas I have been able to make some nice finds. I figured today might be my last outing on the spot, so thought some big old coin would be a grand way to end the season on this site. About 20 minutes or so into the hunt I got one of those nice clear signals and a 85-88 reading and the LTD was showing 9-10 on the depth meter. I just knew a silver quarter was waiting for me. After a couple of good scoops with my digger, went over the clod and got a good high tone. Moved a little dirt around and didn't see any glint of silver. Oh, oh, I thought. Right, a little more probing and 72 clad Washington quarter revealed itself. Ended the day with that, 2 buttons that are soaking and a clad dime and a 77 Memorial cent. I guess I will be seeking out some less brushy spots. Hope everybody gets some great goodies this weekend. HH jim tn
