Well with all the Harley guys in town thought I would hit the parks looking for some fresh drops. Found a lot of coins but not one a fresh dropped. Didn't see signs of digging in the 2 parks I was in. All coins from 1"-3" range. I think the fresh drops fairy quit and they have no one to take it's place. Anyway this is it. It was just so nice to get out again and do some hunting. Thanks for fresh dropping by and Happy Trails.....Z

Great! :clapping: 5ish bucks and a couple of wheats! You gonna carry that Jesus with you when you hunt next? maybe tuck him in under the top of the handgrip? Nice work on old clad there...I hope a brinks truck carrying quarters spills a load at your next park!

Mud it will be my luck the Brinks truck will be filled with obsolete chuck E cheese tokens. :heh:

EZ I think anything over 50 coins is a very good day. Only time I find fresh dropped coins is in tot lots. Maybe everyone's like me? When I get change I put it in my jar and every few months I have $40 -$50 to spend on taking the wife out. :clapping:

Pony my motorcycle days are long gone. But I do wish I still had my 1947 Indian Scout. Pony I have trouble digging up a coin. I don't think I would take a hankering to digging up a motorcycle.:detecting:
Thanks for replies and Happy Trails....Z

Elton I have been thinking about that almost the whole summer. If coins are getting scarcer? I will have to adapt my hunting technique or quit detecting. So is there a solution? Working at it!!! Happy Trails...Z

Yes coins are getting scarcer I think...also, theres no kids playing outside like we used to...all day and into the night, pockets full of coins, chasing down the Good Humor man...I am interested in seeing what this Falls sport season drops are like....I think we are gleaning drops from several years ago, if this dont turn around, one of these days if a fellow finds a fresh drop shiny Q, it will be a reason to post! Anyway, we got the equip and skills to change fast to something other than clad if it comes to it...even if its pulltab hunting, you know a guy will get some gold doing that as a major focus..clad is just so much fun though, I will miss hunting it as much as our fore fathers must have missed shooting those pigeons that got wiped out.:sadwalk:

i believe in our lifetime guys, there will be enough clad still around to keep clad stabbers happy and busy. Clad, though, is steadily getting deeper, so popsicle sticks and the like for stabbing will need be changed to something that will cut a little deeper. Jeez, even rusty pop/beer tops are getting down there beyond my Predator trowel. What maybe could help clad numbers improve per outing is to hunt every other month. That way the clad has a little longer to build up between hunts and it will seem like we are finding more. And, the stabbers can then go back to using popsicle sticks....or screwdrivers. Guys, hope this helps. HH jim tn

If you old guys wern't so greedy back in the 70's, maybe thered be a few silver dimes laying around for us to find! "Hunt every other month" he says...as if...hows about YOU hunt every other month in the hopes that the old silver masked by iron gets a chance to unrust itself a little? then go dig a Peace Dollar at 2" with your predator? And whats this about you going on clad stabbing forays occasionally when you should be hunting old silver? Holy smokes that was a good one Jimmy!
I actually DID laugh out loud and fell on the floor and rolled around until my rear end fell off! Great!:clapping:
