Dates: October 22 -- 23 -- 24, 2004
Location: Longs Fishin & Diggin Campsite
On the Llano River, Kingsland, Texas
Folks, as you will see, this "will not" be a small event, but a major event in our nation this year. We will be bringing together, mineral prospectors, rock hounds, detectorist, Indian artifact hunters, relic hunters and other groups for a long weekend of great fun and most importantly--a rally of serious discussions on the problems our hobbies face today and our rights to enjoy that hobby on our public lands as Americans.
I encourage everyone to share this flyer and the information it gives you with all your club members and friends. It will be worth the effort you make to come to this one-of-a-kind event this year.
Please also remember, members of the GPAA will be on hand to help you learn to gold dredge, highbank, gold pan and introduce you to new methods of general prospecting at no cost to you.
There is over 200 acres of primitive ancient Indian village open to you to dig for artifacts and the 2800 acres site is over 150 years old and has been used as a recreational area since the owner's great grandfather once charged ten cent per wagon load, again at no cost to you.
There will be several hunts involving metal detectors to locate buried coins, tokens for prizes and clues to special hunts and prizes. Again this year we will have the nations largest Open Free Hunt to all that wish to participate. It cost you nothing to enter, you keep what you find and last year there was over 100 prizes tokens in this hunt. Everyone really enjoyed this special hunt, you will too.
This Hunt is only possible through folks like yourself donating coins and prizes for the tokens found. Please Feel Free To Donate to this Wonderful Hunt, you'll be glad you did!
Also there will be a Free Kids Hunt on Sunday with lots of prizes and coins for the kids to find. This is a Family Weekend, fun for everyone in the family, we want you to all come. Sunday will also be the day of our only Pay Hunt, where there is an entry fee as you can see on the flyer. Many prizes including metal detectors and prospecting equipment in this one, so get your entry in early.
Now if this alone wasn't enough to bring you and the family out, then how about the Friday Night Cookout and Free Night Hunt, or Saturday night Camp Fire Gathering (ole' time treasure stories, fun guitar picking, singing and more).
Don't forget that the river has some great fishing in it and we do have a contest this weekend for the longest fish caught, so bring your fishing gear too.
In Short, this will be a weekend everyone will be talking about for a long time to come, so mark-it on your calendar. Remember you and the family are welcome for this weekend of fun and serious discussion of our hobby's future, you do not have to be a member of WWATS to participate. However, membership to WWATS is free, please take the time to check us out at: www.wwats.org and click on FREE HUNT for more details.
The landowner does require a cost of $20.00 per person a day at this sire but your campsite is free as is all your activities owned by the land owner.
For more details please feel free to contact me.
