Catching up...so I'll be brief....
Started detecting a little earlier than last year...been kinda bleak--Target count is low
That being said, I have struck gold sooner than before, so Hopefully that means a good season.....
Out of the first 3 hunts:
#1 was practice/Beach cleanup, came home w/ 24 cents.....2 dimes 4 pennies 20 pieces of trash
#2 yielded a silver hoop ear ring and a silver? Toe ring....Anyone know what MS-40-0 means?? That's what's marked in the toe ring...
#3 Was coin day..
SO, knowing how bleak it was, for hunt #4, I picked a grouping of 5 hotels and tried to cover every inch of wet sand I could.
Swinging along and hit this semi-high tone. sounded like a deep nickel.
For some reason, on my excal II, nickels sound higher tone when they're deep and then when on the surface, sound deep.
Dug it up, and I had myself a grill......not the cooking kind....My first
Looks like gold, sounds like gold, so I presume it's gold...for some reason, they don't mark them.

When I found it, I said, well I can take this off my list of things to find...Wait, I need to add it to my list to take it off...that's one thing that I would have never thought to put on a list of things to find...
A little later, Found a silver ring w/ a purple stone. This ring is in my top 3 favorites of silver rings found.
Also found matching (junk) ear rings, about 30 feet apart, 10 feet difference in elevation.
Hunt #5,
Found my first gold ring of the season...10k ring w/ a K on it.
When I swung across it, I knew....I said to myself..this sounds deeper than all those pop tops I've been finding!!!
Gold on left, Silver w/ purple stone on Right
Grill in the middle, Hoop Ear ring surrounding the Golden Avenger
Mood ring, Stainless? with missing setting--maybe diamond because of symbol in ring, Silver? toe ring, Nitro junk

Now the next picture is to show ya'll a little piece of metal the Excal II found......It was a slightly broken signal, but a good signal.....I'd never have thought.....
