Do anyone know what the frequency of the new Ace 150/250 detectors are.The Prizm freq. 8khz and that puppy will nail gold.If the Ace 150/250 are 8khz or more then it is a killer of a unit. For the money the new ACE 150/250 are going to be hard to beat.
Did garrett kill his under $700 detectors with the ACE 250???????????.

No, garrett doesn't kill the under 700$ detectors with the Ace 250.The GTAx 1250, 1350 and the GTIs have more features and depth because they have ground balance and tracking.
The 250 could kill the Gtax 550, Treasure Ace 300 and 100.
I think garrett is coming out with a new detector line.

Both of the machines are 7.2kHz. They have a true all metal mode, with target Id and tone Id, fantastic machines. Got to hunt with them at Garrett Manufacturing while attending seminars for the hobby division and the security academy.
They are so easy to use, and have the features of the higher end detectors, depth is really good, and will pleasantly surprise you.
The 150 will be out in October as it is now in production, the 250 will be out in November, Garrett suggest if you want one to make pre-orders now.
I will have them on my website soon, as I have a whole new site being built right now.
Anyone wanting to order one can call me or email me.
The 150 is on Christmas special, and will automatically be included with your order.
The GTAx 1250 and 750 will no longer be manufactured, very limited supplies are on hand to support the 2004 buyers guide.
Garrett is on the move to blow away the other manufacturers with the best products on the market with better pricing than any competition.

Clondike,
I was looking for a detector for my Son who's 10yrs old. The 250 seems to be the ticket. After testing how do you think it would perform on Beaches dry Sand and maybe wadeing a bit? I use a Minelab sovereign. My Son is my primary concern and it would
be nice if the 250 performs in that arena. Any info
would be appreciated.

The GTA and GTP models do not have ground balancing / tracking . . . . . the GTI 2500 is the only model that offers ground balancing.

The 1250/1500 have automatic ground tracking that adjusts the detector to changing ground composition. I assume since the 1350 is the 1250 with profiling that it would be similarly equipped.

I emailed Garrett to ask if my GTAx 1250 had true automatic ground balancing that changed as the ground changed or whether it was Pre-set. They responded that it had true auto matic gound balance.

The 2500 is the only model with *manual* ground balancing, which works only in (non-motion) all-metal mode.
All of the DSP machines (1250, 1350, 1500, 2500) have automatic ground balancing and tracking in (motion) discriminate mode.
