2500 Finds and a few comments...

The items above were found in some "tough" areas.
The relics came from an area that is laden with iron.
The coins came from a park that is "pulltab heaven"
(with the exception of the 1907 IH).The nickels are
1941 and 1964 and for these to be missed all these
years and the 2500 to find them is pretty good.I
hunted in AM and when I got a good target(non-ferrous
in the coin range) I switched to discriminate. On
all occasions, the target stayed locked on. The id's
that jump around were junk. I would think that a
small coil would do wonders in a junky area. Best to
all and keep swingin', RichardnTn

Richard, sounds and looks like you're pleased with the GTI2500 decision. Have you run your MXT against it to see differences?
Do you consider the gold band in the picture a relic or not???? <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

and opted for the MXT. It just fit my style of hunting better. I loved the 1500 and 2500. After using the MXT then trying the 1500 (my wife's)this weekend, I noticed the MXT processed info much "faster" so I dig a higher percentage of good targets in any given time. This gives you the impression that the MXT finds more. The reason you seem to think you find more than the GTi is , that you can cover more ground so much faster.
And did find many targets the GTI's missed in a school yards, I already covered last year. But, to be fair, the 1500 this weekend Id'd two targets correctly the MXT was iffy on. I like the knobs and the ability to fine tune a detector to a greater degree than the GTI's will let you.

Thanks Sven for the comments, I have all three as well, and use both the 1500 and the MXT mostly but will put the 2500 out for quiet ground and open spaces to run all metal mode. (Prospecting mode is the closest setting on the MXT).

I use the MXT to relic hunt with and am using the
2500 for coins. Still learning the Garrett but
it's moving pretty fast. HH Richardntn
