ML will replace my elliptical coil under warranty. This will be the second time it has been replaced due to the mounting bracket/ears breaking. I really like this coil on the beach, but I think this is were it gets the most ( not intentional ) abuse. The coil gets the occasional bump on the side from beach chairs, lounges and mounds of sand. I believe the broad sides of this coil take a greater percentage of force when bumped than a concentric one. This has to take its toll on the mounts in time. I having been using the elliptical coil exclusively for the past year on the beach, so now having to use the stock concentric.....it feels so out of place!!
Don't get me wrong the stock coil works fine, it just can't probe around the many fixed beach objects I like to poke around. Mailed the coil off yesterday,....can't get here soon enough. GL ALL
On another note....I got my 15 minutes of fame
.
Last Monday while out water hunting with the Xcal, I found a ring with "Bart & Rachel" inscribed on the outside of the ring. I have never found one like this and thought it was kinda unique. So at a friends suggestion it was posted on the local beach FB page Tuesday night. By Wednesday morning it had @ 1,000 shares and comments so I felt pretty good about finding them. I went out MDing and when I got home for lunch ABC news called about doing a story. I meet the reporter, Ashley Glass
, out at the beach and the interview was shown on the 5pm news. By Wednesday night it was shared over 20,000 times and the owner was found in Indiana. The ring, to my amazement was lost 3 years ago.
Of all the rings that I have found and returned some worth several thousand dollars, It's a 10 dollar Stainless steel ring that goes viral....to date it has been shared over 60,000 times and was featured for 2 days on the local news,Indy action news and even talked about on the morning " Kelly and Michael" show. Michael said I'm not a very good treasure hunter cause I give everything back..LOL! I have received numerous positive emails from all over the US and abroad. The power and reach of social media is awesome.
Here's the story's, thanks for looking!!
