08/05/2011 my second hunt with the x terra 705 with the 5x10 DD HF coil in the park across the street. :detecting::clapping:
This mornings three hour hunt finds:
1) six quarters
2) ten dimes
3) three nickles
4) eleven pennies
5) thirty something pieces of trash
6) my first ring, child's ring plated gold at best it has one big blue stone and two small diamonds/Chrystal's/???
I hunted my yard last night found some quarters, dimes and pennies along with assorted trash.
I am getting better at my pinpointing with the 5x10 coil yeah.

Here is pics from this mornings hunt.

I just figured out how to upload more than one pic gggg :drinking:

Todd, What was the TID on that ring. I have been testing different rings and have gotten anywhere from 20-28. 24 for my 14K wedding band with medium width and 28 for a big 14K ring with a saphire. Just curious. Thanks

Kim

Hi Kim the tid was 30

Junk or not they always make me smile. Sometimes I wonder about the child or person who lost it.

I agree Jeff it is always exciting and fun regardless of the value.

Thanks for the TID on that ring. I would have been expecting a penny with that number. Heading to a small beach tomorrow... basically a sand quarry with a consession stand and softball field, but popular with locals. Doubt if it has ever been detected, and it has been around for quite a few years. Wish me luck and I will post what I find.

I wish you the best of luck Kim.
I am going out again this morning at 6:00am, I am still looking for my first silver anything maybe my coil will pass over it this morning :detecting:
I wish there where some older areas around here to hunt but I am sure that people still carry and lose the occasional silver coin in circulation.
Once again the best of luck and I can not wait to see your finds.

Looks like you and the xterra are getting along well.

Yes I really am loving this MD, have the pinpointing all but nailed with the 5x10 DD hf coil, now it's time to start playing with some settings to fine tune and then TID's

Hi,

Congrats ...better than I did at first
That coil is dynamite
The more you use your detector, the more second nature it will become
best of luck and remember to have fun
