2nd Silver... the SE has the scent now!

It's been tough fighting through all of the rusty nails, hinges, pieces of foil, part of toys, etc. in my 1800s lawn but the SE is on the trail like a good hunting dog. Here is my second piece of silver this week! A 1953 Rosie! Now I just have to find the old stuff.

the Older Coins, you may have to start digging everything, and I mean EVERYTHING so you can get below the Layer of Iron that is masking the Keepers that should be there. Dig a few Iron here and there when you are bored and you will have your yard cleaned up and know that you have most of the Coins that were in your yard. I know it sounds impractical, but would you rather leave that Seated Half or any other Coin sit in the ground and deteriorate from the Elements each passing year? Who knows! You may have a Key Date Coin in amongst all that Trash and may never even know it. Continued Success with your New SE and Good Luck and HH to you.

I'd have to strip off all of the grass and rake the trash out.

The way I learned was to go to a school or park and dig everything and listened to the tone and looked at the screen last to check to see where it came in at before I dug.In no time you will almost always know what it is to a point, there is no sure way to know untill you dig.Digging all you sometimes find the iffy targets.Hope this helps.
Good luck on your next hunt.Congrats on your second finds.
