Hit +7C today but rained a mild down pour all day with some wind. We still had snow about 15 cm deep but it had been above freezing for 2 days so I decided to wrestle with Mother Nature, put on full rain gear smartly so the water didn

You sure do get out there and hunt Mike, only time before you get yourself a nice Hammered German gold LOL

I might mellow out a little after I find a gold coin, LOL! After 15 years of hunting I only have two gold finds in the form of rings. HH, Mike

hunting a lot!
Way to go, a bad day hunting is better then a good day doing honey do's around the house!
HH,

except for a couple of trinkets either. I would love to find a gold ring or a gold coin preferrably.

How long have you been detecting Mike? I've got 15 years into detecting but have gotten into it more over the past year as I have more time now. 3 kids and renovated an old farm house. I have two gold finds in 15 years, two rings, hope to find a gold coin someday like everyone else. HH, Mike

I'm kind of a newbie myself. I got into detecting after I had a heart attack and the Department said see ya and put me out on early retirement. So to keep from going nuts I started building wooden ship models, which used to dabble in years ago and then took up metal detecting to get me out of the house and additional exercise besides the dreaded treadmill, which I do for about an hour a day.

If that thing could talk, It would tell you it's been used by some CRAZY people! I hunted with that thing during Hurricane Irene in the Carribean. It's definately "Splash proof". I like the shower cap idea. I've used them detecting before, but I was wearing it on my head!

Even tough the CZ's may say "splashproof", I think that's just because the speaker is waterproof. To me that just means, mist or very light rain you'll be fine. In a down poor I think your taking a big risk by not bagging. Only the old CZ-6a (the one I'll never sell) is one I have had out in downpours with no bags & no trouble....
