3030 to much hype

I just can not see needing all of the gps and computer and so on.The safari and e trac are great and go just as deep I dont need a detector that tells me it is 7.35 inches that is nuts nothing is that accurate and why do you need it to be just dig the plug. The only good thing is it is waterproof me I will stick to my safari maybe the e trac that is all I need.

Dude if I had the money I would buy one in a heart beat. I would not buy it because it had GPS, I would buy it because the CTX can get those hidden coins. I seen that you made some great finds with your detectors and you know how to use them well. I don't know what area of the country you hunt, but where I live most of places have been hit hard. I believe the ctx 3030 would give me the edge to find those iron masked coins. Personally I believe that Minelab will come out with other CTX models that have less bells and whistles that will replace the etrac, explorer, and safari. Time will tell.

I hope so I just cant afford it and to tell the truth if I could I think I would still stick o what I like.Good for all of you who love it im hope you enjoy it and goodluck

As much as I love to find all the other unique targets that I find as I metal detect, I'm still looking for that detector or the technology to increase my chances of finding gold targets discriminating the pull tabs etc that fall in the same range as gold.
I hunt primarily beaches when I can and other locations when that's not possible. I cannot see the 3030 helping me in that area so I'll stick to the detectors I have already. I would shell out major money if there was a detector that would do the job but I know there isn't and if someone had the technology to exclusively detect gold, I cannot see them sharing it with the rest of the world!.......so I wait with my money in my hand for that day! COME ON MINELAB start working on that and I'll pay you BIG DOLLARS!!
P.s. this ring is one of many I've detected here on SoCal beaches weighing in at 14.5 grams!

I drove 2 hours to a friends house to help him with CTX 3030 we went to a place that was built in 1880 and Home owner had entire lawn irrigated,to tell the truth it was soggy and never been hunted my friend payed 100 dollars to landowner to hunt 3 acres..Between 3 of us we got it kind of set up but more time will be spent for him tweaking it.The agreement was that he did not want me recovering targets with my Safari like I normally do just to put large golf tees on targets. He would dig so we can make comparisons I was white,he was blue.Couple hours I had the 50 white tee's in the lawn. The results were 50 targets-50 coins both machines agreed with each other that's when we realized we were not doing this right that we needed to find iffy or weak targets and mark them.I was able to mark 11 targets that were iffy to me that I probably would not dig but came in one way 3 of those turned out to be coins, but on other hand he dug all 11 because CTX thought they were good I believe we do not have CTX tweaked right,he dug a lot more junk than I did.

My thoughts on CTX.I brought 4000 cash with me if I liked it I was going to buy it from him.It is very well built, its recovery speed is faster,a lot of features are really cool the way it Pin Points on screen is cool and very useful.design was well thought out.You can have a lot of fun playing with it without ever going hunting.I think it is worth the money.

I am going to wait awhile until he gets more experienced with it.I think that with Safari I can remove 95 percent of coins at any location. The remaining 5 percent is what you are looking for with CTX.I saw no increased depth as of yet during recovery over Safari.

The big thing that changed my mind to buy one now was during recovery I was able to pinpoint in junk and iron on coins as well as CTX if not better using 6X8 but I never hit my pinpoint button when I hunt anyway just move coil around until I have mentally narrowed down to 4 inch location this was a surprise to us all.If they put smaller coil on CTX it could become the ultimate junk yard dog time will tell.In northern Illinois we are in drought and not that many places I can go until we get rain will keep my money until several things improve we were hunting in Wisconsin just as dry as Illinois I love lawn irrigation.

I not saying its no good just to much that I do not think you need with a detector like a gps.But hey to each is own I am glad you all love it and keep finding just leave me some LOL and yes i agree I find coins at the same depth with my safari

I agree with you i just love my safari I do not even want to upgrade to an E trac. The safari is all I need and I get the same depth as the E trac
