4.5 inch scorcher coil

Hi everyone, I want to thank you guys for the tip on reducing the sensitivity on my GTI 2500. Being new to this hobby, that really helped out in finding coins (newer ones so far), especially in working areas with lots of trash, consisting of pulltabs and pop tops. I have another question pertaining to the 4.5 inch scorcher coil I have just purchased. I plan to use it in parks and forest preserves with lots of the above mentioned trash, and was wondering if there are any recomendations on the settings of my GTI 2500 with this coil. Also was wondering if anyone is using this coil and comments on it.

Thanks everyone,
Joe

Always start with low sensitivity and work your way up. You'll be surprised at what you can find when your sensitivity isn't running full blast.

advantage of a small coil, work slow in trashy areas. Listen to what the 2500 is telling you.
All too many times we get in a hurry and miss a lot of good targets...Enjoy the 2500. It is a great machine.... Richardntn

Richardntn,

Can you please explain what you mean by listen to what the GTI 2500 is telling you, to someone new to this hobby. I hunt mostly for coins. I have been only digging targets that give that coin ding sound, show up as a coin on the ID, and show up as a B or C on imaging. Am i missing coins by doing this? Can a coin be there that doesnt trigger that coin ding feature, or show up differently on ID or imaging?

Thanks Joe
