40 to go..

I went and got 55 this am..nice tight little 3 q spill with a dime flyer was nice, and 9 nickles...so I'm 40 coins away from 10,000 coins this year...791.87 count...perhaps, to make it sporting, I'll just go for all Q's and make it an even $800? Tomorrow am is gonna haveta be the day for me...I've got honeydo's starting Friday afternoon and all weekend, lessen I can combine chores and trips and all (which I'll attempt)...ground is still not froze, but pretty dang close, dark cold wind, makes for snotcycles hanging and dropping onto the F70 screen, froze up hands, you all know the drill..tough duty alright...but I tell you, I find just one more untapped drop zone, and I'll blow right into 11 or 12 thousand in a danged old hurry. One thing I'm sort of ashamed of...the wife has no Idea about any of this...if she knew I got 10k coins this year, she'd likely bust a spring! As long as me and her have been together, and with me being faithful all this time, I dont feel comfortable to share this feat! She'd most likely try to get me some counseling for this addiction! As far as she knows, I'm going down to the baitshop in the mornings for some coffee and bullcrappery with the bluegill boys.! Any advice from you oldsters is of course welcome.

You will get the 40, I know. And then, probably some. The bluegill guys might very well put you on the spot. I don't really have any advise, mud. And as you know, I hunt every day...barring adverse weather conditions. My wife and I both go to the gym from 5a-6a and by 6:30a I'm on the road to a hunting site. I started my early morning hunting routine the day after I retired and my wife knows that is my routine and is fine with it. Good luck ole buddy. HH jim tn

I'm safe if Elton tries to turn me in...We have relatives in Cleveland, so most likely she would not answer the phone if she saw that area code come up! Really she doesn't mind, as long as I get my work done, pay the bills, fix things, keep the bird feeder full, and take her dancing, I've developed a few new steps.. the "coil swing sway", the "silver shuffle", the "gold shake", "totlot two step" and the "clad stab stomp"

That's a lot of work all year and you are making it tough on yourself if your goal is to beat it in 2013?. Anyway I think you have plenty of time for that last 40, good luck

Dont think I could do it again in 2013 Camp, unless I move somewhere else! I'm pretty sure I've got the paydirt in this area played out...I've been working this ground for a few years, and the fresh drops are not falling as hard and heavy as I thought they would. I dont know what I found the first few years before I kept count, but it was a LOT! Sure. I'll always shoot clad when I can, but I think maybe I need to take a break and go deeper into the intricacies of this sport, you know, research, door knocking, tear outs and old silver hunting...I will not waste so much time on the beach this coming year, thats just brutal! I will work the water in the late summer though, that seems to be the most productive and best time to do it..been thinking a lot about a metal detecting trip someplace...even a short road run, 1000 mile loop or something, maybe get down to Eltons and toss out my coffee cans full of rotten zincs in his hunting spots? That sounds like a fun little project!

Hey Mud thats alot of digging! Do you keep track of your silvers and if so how many? Just curious. Good luck Paul

Hey Paul, I dont track silvers, though I should..I dont find enough to bother.. there was a two day stretch I remember getting 3 dimes and a Q, and I usually trip across a dime every now and then ...I got a merc and a 1910 barber dime a few years back with the 70...but then again, I was digging all signals, and learning, clad stabbing a fellow runs pretty light on the sens, and just pounds signals in the surface to 4" range mainly. I bet I got nearly 20 dollar coins this year.

Jim what do you think..should we call ?? hahahahahahhaa LOL

But you forgot the " I'm Slipping out shuffle" hahahahaha

Mud I think you might as well shoot for 11 or 12 thousand. Just so you don't get bored.
