44 caliber Tranter

Went out Sunday afternoon for a few hours of hunting. The T2 got a real faint signal that didn't repeat. I had a feeling something was there so I pinpointed it and got a good pinpoint. Down about 7 to 10 inches popped out a 44 caliber Tranter. This site has given up a few buttons and a few Williams cleaners, so this is a thrill. Can anyone give me some information on this bullet. What kind of firearm was it used in and was it in common use. It came from one of Shermans camp sites that been hunted hard. I believe the T2 will find some more goodies from this hunted out site. Only time will tell, and its only a few miles from the house.
