Now that I have been educated as to ground balancing,I was wondering since I use the hipmount method that the 7 ft cable on a 5' coil will be long enought for me to use as a hipmount?I belive that the one that comes with the cz-5 is a 10 ft coil.

I think it is the 7 ft. I believe they only come with 3 or 7 ft.

I believe the coil wire length is between 7 and 8 feet..Earlier CZ models had coil wire length that was several inches shorter..In any case as Billy says 7 foot is adequate..I think once you try the 5 inch coil you will elect to rod mount as it really lightens the load..If buying a used or new coil make sure you get the long cord as the CZ7 and CZ7A had short coil wires of approx. 3 feet and you could never hipmount with them as they were rodmount model coils made for the CZ7 and CZ7A....
