5" coil for T2

cx3

New member
I received my 2nd 5" coil for my T2 yesterday, the first small coil I ordered was defective, it constantly overloaded the detector giving the sirene sound. Well thank goodness the 2nd coil worked just fine. I did some testing in my test garden and found that I could easily pick up a rosie dime at 9" plenty good audio to dig the target although I did not receive a visual ID the audio was correct giving the high tone from audio setting 3, seneitivity was 92, disc. 15. I also have an area in my yard that evidentally had a building there in the past, at least there are plenty of nails in the ground. I scanned this area with the small coil and could isolate non ferros signals mixed in with the nails. I think the small coil will be a winner in trash but what really surprised me was the depth its hard to believe a 5" coil will punch down 9". Another thing that I have found out about the T2 is how deep it will pinpoint, I left the sensitivity at 60 in pinpoint and it goes really deep in fact I think it pinpoints the deepest of any detector I have used. I wish Teknetics had incorperated a non-motion search mode with target ID in the T2. HH

Yes, squeeze the pinpoint trigger and hold, now turn the nob to adjust the sensitivity, the factory default setting is 60. HH

Pinpoint search is for cache hunting finding hidden gold in wells Fargo boxes (LOL) and it goes really deep if the sensitivity is over 90 you can hear the electronics buzz inside the machine. If you like digging graves then it's for you! I done like going down more than 15 inches to much work! You can pick up a dustbin lid about two meters down with pinpoint and if you are hunting for gold nuggets then you want to use pinpoint, so I do not understand the new fuss about the LTD edition.....
