5" coil on the Omega...

Jackpine Savage

Active member
Haven't read any reports anywhere on the small coil. Is anyone using it?

Tom

I'd like to hear how the 5" coils does myself ....I'm in the process of getting my first machine ....I would rather buy a machine that I can grow into , rather than grow out of ....The 8000 kit with the 3 coils is the one I'm looking at , but don't want to spend extra money on the 5" coil if it isn't going to work for me .....So far from what I gather , ti's a great coil for area's where there is a lot of junk , and or tight to get into area's ..... I'd still like to hear more about what the performance is like with it .....Thanks, Jim

How is that Omega working out for you? I have 2 coming with the 11" coils and am looking forward to see what they are capable of.

Joe with the weather warmup I have just started to get out again with the Omega. Still the only places huntable at present are the Lake Michigan beaches and I have been concentrating on using the all metal AT mode (stock and DD coils) to try and hit some deepies missed by other hunters. Although I am getting some deep hits that are well beyond disc mode depths so far nothing worth reporting finds wise.

Thanks for the info Tom. Been a long time(teenager) since I was on a beach at lake Michigan. Been in Phoenix for the last 35 years and can't say that I miss the cold weather in Chicago. Be interesting to see what you find when the weather warms up.
