5" DD coil experiences

Bartman

Okay, so I'm looking at getting a 5" DD coil for my T2 to help cut through the enormous amount of trash in the some of the city parks that I hunt. I'm curious to anyone's experience with this coil. How do you like it? Does it cut through the trash, but still give reliable TID? What about depth? I know it isn't going to be as deep as the 11", but how is it overall? Thanks.

I'm in the same boat as lafatlife; I've got the 5 inch coil but haven't used it yet. The 11 inch has done just fine so far, even in pretty trashy areas.

the 5" DD on the lower-frequency Omega 8000 works quite well. Until I get some spare rods (Thank You, Keith :please: ) I took the 5" off and am just concentrating on working the Omega's stock 10" concentric for a while. but what little I have used it to get a general 'feel' for its potential, I am very pleased with it.

I like it quite well. I have preferred a smaller-than-stock coil in the 5" to 7

Using the 5" coil on my Omega, I picked up a quarter 6.5" deep in loose gravel. Not much of a signal, but repeatable. Its an awesome coil in dense trash.

For me, the little coil is the way to go in heavy trash. With any detector. As I understand it, the T2 sniper coil is virtually the same performance wise as the F75's. I can vouch that the F75 5" DD works great in trash and is very, very deep for a small coil.

Like Monte said, make sure you let us know what you think when you use it.

what has been your experience with the 3"+6 " coil!..just curious!
thanks!

I'm personally looking forward to YOUR report on how the 5" DD works for YOU in YOUR hunting environments.

Just came in the mail today. Hopefully, I can get her out for a test run this weekend to let you guys know.

Looking for a 5"DD Teknetics coil for my Bounty Hunter Platinum metal Detector with a push on connector.
Kellyco only has one with a screw on connector.

I think you will like the 5". I have the Gold Bug with the 5" and in 2 days at local park in Disc mode and gain at 50, I plucked over seventy coins, the deepest about 7".
Now I am waiting for the release of the 11" DD for the GB since I will use it for Meteorites here in AZ.

As per my conversation with FT they are working on a 11" DD for GB & G2 to be released between now and July. The Omega coil will work, but not as well
because of the frequency mismatch.

I swing slow and overlap with the 5". This park is from the forties in the neighborhood I grew up in. Most of the coins were found around one big tree. Unfortunatly
I found no silver. I plan to return and hope for silver! Tim

You have to hunt in a different way overlap alot and really watch the coil. If you have alot of sens on the coil your coil is going to read more ground so don't over do it in high trash and or iron.

Saw the thread and thought I'd throw in a quick for sale. Hope I'm not violating any rules. I have a spare BRAND NEW never used never on the machine 5" T2 coil for sale for $99 including shipping. If interested drop me a PM or send me an email.

Thanks

Dan
