6 grain Gold nugget @ 1 1/2"

Using my new 4.5 x 7" DD Excelerator Coil at sensitivity 19 or 20, I can detect a small 6 grain nugget
of Gold at 1 1/2" which produces a target #9. The 11"DD coil gets only about 1/2" depth.
If I had a larger Gold nugget, I'm sure it would detect at a greater depth.
Of course there is great separation between targets in trash areas and that's the
reason I bought this small coil.
Also, very small gold chains (neck-less) comes in at 4" depth using the same sensitivity above
at #9, #10 or #11 depending on the depth and position in the ground.
This is only an air test, for what it is worth.

Thanks for sharing that very useful information!
Among my coils, I have a 6'' EQ2 Pro DD Excelerator coil which I find very useful in trashy areas. With small coils, it takes a little longer to cover areas but those small coils really zero in and separate those individual targets even when there are lot's of junk which is really handy.
