6 inches of snow and its still snowing and blowing...power flickered once...

Pete in MI

New member
think I won't try to make it 25 miles to church this morning...would hate for the power to go out with me gone and the pets suffer. Besides have a LOT of heavy snow that are weigning limbs on trees down as well as electrical and phone/cable lines.

Don't know if you have a Flickr account but if you do you can see the pictures I have posted on my Flickr account at:

Sherry will love these pics as she loves winter

Have a blessed day.

Well, believe it or not, it's actually snowing here in good ol Bama this morning! Not something we see very often down here. It's mostly flurries with a few snow showers mixed in at times, but it IS snowing. The ground is too warm for it to lay in most places, but we might get a slight dusting up here in the higher elevations where I live... or not. It's turning REALLY cold here throughout the day. Highs tomorrow are supposed to be in the mid-upper 20's in my neck of the woods. I know that's nothing compared to what yall deal with up there, but it's dadgum COLD to us. lol Of course we laugh at yall when yall tell us it's hot up there! ;-)

Be sure to get pics!. You could build Frosty or a fort!

LOL, Well, Mike, it has to actually lay on the ground before I could do that! So far, it's fallin like crazy at times, but it ain't stickin!

before dark and all night. Then a little before dawn it changed to the white stuff and it is still coming down. Very beautiful and it means some work for me.

That's what it did here. Only difference is, it usually doesn't stick here. Sometimes, but rarely.

I bet it's beautiful up there...don't have a flickr account....so I will use my imagination! Be safe and stay warm. We have sideways snow here today....winds from 30-40MPH here today. COLD, WINDY and SNOWY....Y'all can keep this stuff up north!

I just wish Satan would leave you guys alone. You have a ton on your plate already. Satan is having a feild day with all of us because he hates us and is ticked because of Christs birrth at Christmas. Solution : PRAYER. God does answer. Prayer is our phone line to Christ. Amen. PEACE:RONB

Predictions were made for between 4 and 14 inches...got a little over 6. A snowblower that was set beside the road (by God for me) I picked up a couple years ago...cost..free. Had to get it working but that didn't cost anything but a little time and talent (God gave me the talent too). It had held up for these past years. This is the first year it did not start on the first pull. Took about a half hour of tearing it down, cleaning up the magneto contacts and it is alive again. Again cost nothing but a little time and God given talent.

Didn't get the 14 inches of snow - that makes me blessed. A working snow blower makes me blest. Having the furnace repaired yesterday - though I had no money it was repaired for under $10 and I was given $20 - God more than met my need. I installed the part again with God given talent so had no labor cost to pay.

I and Sherry are blessed in so many ways and yes the devil hates it. We know which Kingdom we belong to and this worldly one isn't it.

I wish you all could see all this snow....it is amazing and it is only the 2nd snowfall so far this winter.

HI Pete and guess what? We have the white stuff, too! Don't know how deep or how much has fallen...started at darkness after a day of rain and winds are gusting and blowing it around like crazy with whiteouts at times! I put new batteries in my Digital and took some pics from inside my home, so will try to get them into the Computer and uploaded but knowing Ma it may take me awhile! Grandmothers are slow but great-grandmothers are even slower! Don't have an account, so can't see your pics, but they must be beautiful with all that white covering everything!

My porch and driveway only need cleaned where the wind drifted the white stuff in deeper piles! Can't get out my front door but I can use the garage and get to the mailbox, if this bad weather persists!!! I am blessed, also, because He provided me with new windows and storm doors a few years ago and they are keeping the cold air out which the wind is causing lots of...the old ones were letting a lot of cold air into my house! I, also, am blessed not to have to drive in this kind of weather and be able to stay inside and enjoy the beauty of the winter season! I feel for those who do have to work and be out in it, though! I used to when younger, as I drove to work in all kinds of weather even at night when I worked nights which was many years ago! Praise God for HIs giving you godly wisdom and talent to repair what is needed and that is a blessing indeed...saves a lot of money, for laborers and even parts can be very expensive! It cost me $99.00 for an Anticipator for my furnace when on the coldest day and night of that winter, my furnace quit working and on a Friday night, too! Sat and Sun would have been terrible charges to get someone out to find out why it wasn't sending heat upstairs and to repair it, but Praise God when my ex was here, we had a second smaller furnace just for the basement put in and I was able to crank up the heat thermostat on it and leave the door open to the stairway and shut the doors to all but what I needed to use and did just fine! The guy came out on Monday....repaired it and Praise the Lord, again, it has been working ever since and that was serveral years ago! Isn't God good???? Praise His holy name, Jesus! Amen!

Hi Lisa and everyone, hope you get some of the white stuff to look at but not have to travel in and may the blessings of God flow upon you all! It is very cold here in St. Louis in I am very happy to be able to stay indoors! Hope to have some pics posted later and would like to see any pics that others have taken of this cold, white wintery scenes! May God Bless and keep on blessing! Amen! Ma Betty
